Atlantic City has a long and varied history. Though
much has been written about the post 1977 casino years,
and the heyday years of the 30's and 40's when the Atlantic
City Boardwalk was the in place to be seen, there is
a wealth of rich history which dates back over two hundred
years before the first dice were thrown or the first
jitney hit the pavement.
Today, Atlantic City, NJ is known for many things -
as the gaming capital of the East Coast, but also the
home of the Miss America Pageant. There is so much to
do in Atlantic City, NJ for both adults and kids alike.
For the adults, Atlantic City's Casinos offer around-the-clock,
non-stop action and entertainment. Entertainment and
fine dining go hand-in-hand and the city abounds with
fabulous eateries which range from bountiful buffets
to elegant dining.
For big and little kids alike, there's Atlantic City's Steel Pier for
the traditional fun rides and games of skill. On Garden
Pier, enjoy the aesthetics of the Atlantic City Art
Center. Additional entertainment includes minor league
baseball, boat rides, boxing, ice skating, and lets
not forget the Miss America Pageant that comes to Atlantic
City, NJ every September. But of course we cannot forget
the beauty of the Atlantic City beaches, boardwalks
and marinas which allow us to enjoy the fabulous setting
for the "World's Playground."
